When thoughts come in meditation, what do i do?

I have been meditating for quite a while, and I have always wondered this; I basically focus on my breath. When a thought comes I gently and calmly return to my breathing. But sometimes a thought comes that is sort of an "enlightenment" thought. You know the kind of thing that suddenly comes to you in meditation that may be a resolution to your problem. One time I actually "heard" a thought - saying 'it will be alright" Clear as a bell. It was really weird, as I was going thru a tough time. Now my question is when THIS type of thought comes, do you push it away also, or do you go with it?
