If California can split in two, can my state (Texas) do the same with our liberal areas?

Well as a Texan i get what you are saying. Right wing nutjobs are annoying and hiring some of them as policy makers is crazy. But that's not really grounds to divide the state. Besides if we did that, then the most conservative lefties would become the new cons. While the most liberal righties would become their progressives. Divide lines naturally happen between big groups of people. Both sides are getting played by good salesmanship which tells you whatever you want to hear. Austin does rule.
