How to get the best use from a meade lightbridge?

I have a meade lightbridge 16" telescope i had a 26mm eyepiece with it.I've viewed jupiter and could see the bands but not the great red spot.I am pleased with the telescope but thought i'd see a bit more.I have been thinking of getting a ccd astro camera but unsure if i could use it properly i can't track like those GOTO telescopes?
