How many atheists here actually have a thorough understanding of..?

Modern evolutionary Synthesis? No offense to anyone here, but I have the feeling that many atheists here are non believers because of cultural/philosophical reasons. I am not criticizing, I just think that more people should study science, so they can be, better informed atheists/free thinkers.
