How does someone become the president of the United States?

Hi, I have to use these terms to describe how a person becomes president: candidacy, declare, primaries and caucuses, delegates, national convention, nomination, majority, running mate, campaign, states, Electoral College, votes, 270, and general election. I know how to use most of these terms, but I'm not sure how to start this description off...help please? Thanks!
